The AFN Jazz Club is a cultural preservation program of The African Nation Non-Profit created to honor, protect, and promote traditional jazz music.
Jazz is more than entertainment. It is history, culture, struggle, creativity, and community. AFN Jazz Club exists to give traditional jazz musicians a place to perform while helping younger generations understand and appreciate the roots of this powerful art form.
To preserve and celebrate traditional jazz by creating a community-supported space where musicians, families, students, and elders can gather, learn, and experience authentic jazz culture.
Many traditional and old-school jazz musicians no longer have enough venues where their music is welcomed, respected, and preserved. Popular music often receives more attention, while traditional jazz — one of America’s greatest cultural treasures — is slowly pushed aside.
AFN Jazz Club is designed to keep this music alive through live performances, education, community fellowship, and volunteer support.
AFN Jazz Club will feature:
• Live traditional jazz performances
• Old-school jazz musicians • Jazz history moments
• Youth music education • Community cultural events
• Volunteer-based music preservation
• Donation-based admission
AFN Jazz Club is not designed as a commercial nightclub. It is a community cultural program.
Entry will be based on a suggested donation, allowing the community to support the musicians, events, and future growth of the program.
Suggested donations may include:
$10 | $15 | $20 or more
No one should be turned away simply because they cannot give.
Because traditional jazz does not always generate the same income as more popular forms of music, AFN Jazz Club will depend on:
• Volunteer musicians
• Volunteer event workers
• Donated performance space
• Community sponsors
• Grants
• Support from jazz lovers
This allows AFN to focus on preservation, not profit.
AFN is looking for churches, community centers, schools, cultural centers, halls, and other organizations willing to donate or share space for jazz performances and educational events.
Ideal space includes:
• Seating for 75–150 people
• Small stage or performance area
• Restroom access
• Parking
• Safe family-friendly environment
You can support AFN Jazz Club by:
• Donating
• Volunteering
• Sponsoring an event
• Providing a performance space
• Helping with marketing
• Referring musicians
• Attending events
AFN Jazz Club is about more than music. It is about remembering where we came from, honoring those who carried the sound, and giving future generations a chance to experience real jazz in a living community setting.
